There's no surprise when one of our guests asks for a recipe, it happens often.  Recipes are like good memories and old photos: they evoke fond thoughts and feelings, are shared among friends and become part of our family lore.  Some of these are old family friends, others were shared by neighbors and friends, and a few were found in a paper or book passed on to us.  In every case, they've been time tested, and rigourously tasted by our guests who come from all over the world.

We make fresh Bagels for nearly every breakfast, and Bev makes certain there's a second pastry too.  If there's a gluten-free guest, a third is added. On the table there's fresh cream cheese for the bagels, and butter as well.

Sour Cream Banana Bread

6 Week Bran Muffins

Bev's Repurposed Pancake Batter Muffins

The Main Course

This isn't a huge repertoire, and it's augmented by simple egg choices (sunny side up, over easy).  Our standard is fresh ingedients and enough for 2nd helpings.

Waffles and Whipped Cream

Quiche Lorraine

Puffed Pancakes

Apple French Toast

Terrific Distractions

Bev's skill at cooking and baking is only matched by her desire to bring a smile to our hungry guest's faces - so she often meets guests with a plate of fresh cookies.  And more than once, she's whipped up a Pavlova to surprise an Australian or New Zealand guest.  Both Aussies and Kiwis claim Pavlova as their national recipe - we don't take sides, but if you try the recipe, it will become your own 'national treasure'.

Brownie Biscotti

Overnight Apple Oatmeal

Other Breakfast Goodies

These are things we put on the breakfat table along with the main course and pastries.
